This is an oversized pad, so applies heat to my entire spine, even though I am a large woman. It does remind me of the professional hot packs used by physical therapists, except it is electric. It gets really hot, but the trigger device must be held down for the heat to be on, so there is no way to fall asleep and get burned. If the heat gets too intense, all you have to do is release the trigger. The moist heat is automatic as the moisture is drawn from the atmosphere and your body. The only thing that would improve this heating pad would be a way to set the temperature and a timer unit that would automatically turn the pad off after the selected time had elapsed. Those features would have earned that fifth star from me, but I really like this device.1/9/2013 7:28 AMWas this review helpful? Yes / No (0/0)
Works well, but in our dry climate in Arizona, the moisture it picks up has to be increased by a room humidifier to maximum effectiveness.1/9/2013 7:28 AMWas this review helpful? Yes / No (0/0)
