The heating pad provides moist heat which is especially helpful to those who are arthritic or have joint pain. The heating range is 86-166 degrees F. The heating pad comes with a timer (1-60 min.) and an automatic shut-off feature in case the user falls asleep during use. Even though the heated provided is described as "moist heat", it will not make anything wet.
