The needle needs to be recalibrated before EVERY use, and never returns to zero, leading one to question the accuracy of the measurement. The markings are very small and hard to read, even for someone with good vision. For the money, it gives a decent estimate of one's weight, is that's what you are looking for, but if you are trying to track weight loss or gain and the difference of a few pounds will matter, this is not the scale for you.
