Does the standard toilet seat stay on and the Raised Toilet Seat get installed on top if it? why isn't there a drop-down cover for when it is not in use......like a standard toilet seat? To answer your first question, the toilet seat and lid will be raised to the upright position and stay there for the duration of using the product. To answer your second question, this raised toilet seat is only designed to be used as a raised toilet seat and not like a standard toilet seat.
