Sizing: Measure Limb Circumference

Arm: Measure the circumference of the arm about two inches above (proximal to) the cast or bandage. If the end of the cast is very close to the elbow, measure mid upper arm (bicep).

Do not measure around the cast, but around the bare arm or leg.

Leg: Measure the circumference of the leg just above the cast or bandage. If the end of the cast is very close to the knee, measure mid thigh.

*Important note - while measuring, if you are between two sizes (or it's close), always go with the larger size

The circumference is more important than the length because it is critical for a good seal.

Note:the half arms and half legs are not normally used for children. Pediatric patients almost always use full arm or leg XeroSox ®.

Note: The opening of the Xerosox should be smaller than your arm or leg circumference

If your circumference falls between the X-Small Leg and the Small Leg, select the Small Half Leg

Fitting Instructions:

Slide on the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover Attach the open end of the pump to the outside valve. Stretch on the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover so that it completely covers the cast or bandage, and an additional inch (25mm) or more of bare skin. The top cuff should be smooth against the skin. Be aware that sharp fiberglass on a cast or a sharp fingernail can rip the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover. Cover sharp objects with a bandage or a sock with the toe cut out.

Pump out the Air With the pump attached to the outside valve, repetitively squeeze the pump until it stays flat. Remove the pump and push on the safety cap. After creating the vacuum, observe the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover before going into the water. As long as the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover stays vacuumed (tightly wrinkled), it is sealed and completely watertight.

Slide the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover off When you are finished using the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover, lift up the cuff to let the air back in. The XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover should now feel loose. Slide the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover off.
