John C. Lincoln Health Foundation's 40th annual Night of Gold Ball is set for Feb. 28 at the new Sheraton Phoenix Downtown.
Named "Noche de Oro," in honor of the first Night of Gold Ball, the event is chaired by Barbara K. Hansen, whose mother-in-law, Jan Hansen, chaired it 40 years ago. Kim Novotny is vice chair of this year's event.
"Over the years, the Night of Gold Ball has raised millions of dollars to improve the lives of others," said Hansen. "It's a privilege to be part of the tradition started by my mother-in-law so many years ago."
This year's Ball will help fund a variety of projects at John C. Lincoln Health Network, including an expansion of the Breast Health and Research Center.
The evening's festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a silent auction and hosted reception. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. and the "Fabulous Pelicans" will provide entertainment for dancing.
A highlight of the evening will be a raffle for a 2009 Cross Bones Harley-Davidson motorcycle donated by Otto Environmental Systems North America, Inc. The bike was designed by Willie G. Davidson, grandson of Harley-Davidson founder William A. Davidson. Tickets for the raffle are $50 and available at JCL.com/ball or by calling 602-870-6060 ext. 1367. Winners need not be present to win.
The Night of Gold Ball is one of two fund-raising events sponsored by The Guild, an organization dedicated to supporting the John C. Lincoln Health Network, which includes two hospitals and the Desert Mission food bank, children's dental clinic, community health center, Lincoln Learning Center and Marley House Family Resource Center.
Table reservations for the Night of Gold Ball can be made online at JCL.com/ball or by calling 602-870-6060 ext. 1367. Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are available.
