The XeroSox® Waterproof Cast Cover is a revolutionary waterproof cast and bandage protector. Because of its patented vacuum seal, it will keep your cast or bandage completely dry. At any time, you can easily check the vacuum seal by simply seeing a dimple in the pump. With the XeroSox Waterproof Cast Cover you can "see and feel the seal!"
The XeroSox® Waterproof Cast Cover is also used for immediate postoperative physical therapy, allowing hydrotherapy right after surgery, which helps prevent swelling and stiffness and aids in a speedy recovery. Those with prosthetics may find using the XeroSox Waterproof Cast Cover quicker and simpler than removing their prosthesis. Also, with your lower extremity prosthesis in place and protected by Xerosox, you may now be able to stand comfortably in a pool or the ocean.
The XeroSox® Waterproof Cast Cover is rugged. It is made of durable high quality surgical latex. The special Non-Skid Grid protects the sole and helps keep the cast protector from slipping. The Built-In Pump not only creates the vacuum seal but also works as a gauge showing that the vacuum is intact and the cast cover is not leaking.

Sizing: Measure Limb Circumference
Arm: Measure the circumference of the arm about two inches above (proximal to) the cast or bandage. If the end of the cast is very close to the elbow, measure mid upper arm (bicep).
Do not measure around the cast, but around the bare arm or leg.

Leg: Measure the circumference of the leg just above the cast or bandage. If the end of the cast is very close to the knee, measure mid thigh.
*Important note - while measuring, if you are between two sizes (or it's
close), always go with the larger size
The circumference is more important than the length because it is critical for a good seal.

Fitting Instructions:
Slide on the XeroSox® Waterproof Cast Cover
Attach the open end of the pump to the outside valve. Stretch on the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover so that it completely covers the cast or bandage, and an additional inch (25mm) or more of bare skin. The top cuff should be smooth against the skin. Be aware that sharp fiberglass on a cast or a sharp fingernail can rip the XeroSox® Waterproof Cast Cover. Cover sharp objects with a bandage or a sock with the toe cut out.

 |
Pump out the Air
With the pump attached to the outside valve, repetitively squeeze the pump until it stays flat. Remove the pump and push on the safety cap. After creating the vacuum, observe the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover before going into the water. As long as the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover stays vacuumed (tightly wrinkled), it is sealed and completely watertight. |
 |
Slide the XeroSox® Waterproof Cast Cover off
When you are finished using the XeroSox® Waterproof Cast Cover, lift up the cuff to let the air back in. The XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover should now feel loose. Slide the XeroSox ® Waterproof Cast Cover off. |
