Description
The Beckman Coulter Hemoccult Fecal Occult Blood Test Solution is designed for conducting a simple fecal occult blood test of the stool. This test is performed to check for gastrointestinal diseases in patients. It is also used to monitor gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with iron deficiency anemia and those recovering from surgery, ulcerative colitis and peptic ulcers. The test is recommended to be performed for routine physical examinations as well as screening programs for colorectal cancer.
The Hemoccult developer solution is a stabilized mixture of less than 5% hydrogen peroxide and 75% denatured ethyl alcohol in an aqueous solution. The solution comes stored in a 15 milliliter bottle with a yellow cap that helps users to easily and quickly identify it from other stored items. The Hemoccult test is only for gastrointestinal diseases and not for colorectal cancer or any other specific diseases. The test solution can only be used with yellow coded test strips and not other test strips such as ketone and glucose test strips.
