The Airlife Volumetric Incentive Spirometer is a transparent design breathing device that helps users practice slow and deep breathing therapies after going through a surgery or lung illness. It is also used to clear secretions from the lungs. The device has dual-sided calibrated markings that measure up to four thousand milliliters and help users self-monitor their breathing ability. The dual-sided markings also ensure that patients can easily perform the therapy and record their abilities using either their left hand or their right hand. To measure and keep track of the progress, the spirometer has an added goal indicator that can be adjusted as per the desired goal. The device comes with a flexible tubing to connect the mouthpiece to the spirometer that is so pliable that it can move in any direction or position as per the user’s convenience.
The Airlife Volumetric Spirometer is equipped with a small inhalation-sensitive ball. The aim is to keep the ball in a suspended motion during the deep breathing session. The deeper the user breathes, the more time the ball remains in a suspended motion range. This practice helps strengthen the respiratory functions and enables the patient to take deeper breaths. The Spirometer is also available in options with or without one-way valves. The device is disposable and recommended for single patient use only. It is latex-free and hence suitable for patients with latex allergies.
