One-Piece Pouching System Care and Tips
- Collect Supplies (Pouch, Skin barrier, Disposal Bag, Pen, and Measuring Guide)
- Remove Used Pouching System
- Clean and Dry the Skin Thoroughly with a Gentle Soap and Water or a Moistened Cloth. Do not use Lotion, Oils, or Powder on the Skin Surrounding the Stoma Area
- Inspect the Condition of the skin to Make Sure there is no Redness, Irritation, or Rash
- Measure the Stoma Area Using the Measuring Guide. When Using a Cut-to-Fit Version, You'll trace the Pouch and Carefully Cut the Opening to Match Your Measurements Remove the Liner from the Skin Barrier
- If Needed, Add a Stoma Barrier Ring or Paste Around the Opening to Help Prevent Leakage
- Gently Apply the Pouching System over the Stoma and Hold the Pouch in Place for at Least One Minute
- Close the Bottom of the Pouch to Prevent Contents from Leaking
