Details

Designed for users with flaccid upper extremeties due to cerebrovascular accident (CVA), traumatic brain injury (TBI) or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the GivMohr Sling provides stabilizing dynamic joint compression whether seated or ambulating. Therapeutic and stimulating, the GivMohr arm sling compresses the shoulder joint, generating sensory feedback that can increase muscle tone in the effected arm.

The GivMohr is now even easier to don with the new 4-tab locking mechanism which delivers more consistent positioning and more comfort. An auxiliary foam pad on the shoulder harness is adjustable so you can place it wherever you need extra cushioning. With this ground-breaking arm sling a flaccid upper limb doesn't have to mean shoulder subluxation and joint pain. Alleviate shoulder discomfort and walk pain free with the GivMohr Sling from ActiveForever.com!

To insure a proper GivMohr Sling fit:

It is recommended that the initial fitting is done by a certified PT or OT. A comfortable and proper fit should follow all of the following:

  • 4-tab is centered over spine and low between scapula
  • Hand piece accommodates contour of hand
  • Wrist cross is centered over wrist (adjust using Velcro in hand grip)
  • Wrist is 0-30° in extension
  • Elbow is in 30° or less of flexion
  • Elbow strap is positioned horizontally 1" below elbow
  • Shoulder subluxation reduced (adjust buckles)
  • Shoulder in neutral rotation (adjust posterior buckle)

How to put on the GivMohr Arm Sling:

  • Place un-involved arm through the shoulder loop and pull sling behind neck
  • Adjust sling so the cross is centered over the spine and low between scapula
  • Drape sling over the involved shoulder with the superior strap anterior to the shoulder and the inferior strap posterior to the shoulder
  • Place grip in hand and pull elbow strap into place

Note: When taking off the sling, please be sure to remove sling from elbow first

  1. The GivMohr Arm Sling does seem to be helping my husband with the separation of the bones he is experiencing in his shoulder review by on 11/21/2014

The GivMohr Arm Sling does seem to be helping my husband with the separation of the bones he is experiencing in his shoulder. He says that the sling is quite comfortable to wear. He does occasionally complain about the hand hold not being very comfortable after longer periods of time wearing the sling, but it is not intolerable. It is also most likely because his hand is swollen. As the swelling has dissipated; so has the complaining about the hand hold. All in all, we are glad we bought it.
