Do I need a doctor’s prescription to receive oxygen therapy?

Oxygen concentrators are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and a prescription from a physician must be issued to receive oxygen therapy. Your physician will order a blood test to determine what your oxygen level is. The prescription will indicate the flow rate of how much oxygen you need per minute (liters per minute or LPM) and when you need to use oxygen. You or your doctor can fax your prescription to our customer service department to help expedite the process.

Warranty: Invacare XPO2 Portable Oxygen Concentrator carries a warranty of three years (two years for the concentrator compressor), and the batteries (internal and supplemental) a period of one year

Returns: All Invacare XPO2 Portable Oxygen Concentrator returns are subject to ActiveForevers return policy and a 25% reprocessing fee. Please call Customer Service for a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) Number. Unauthorized Returns will not be accepted.

Don't buy this! My unit is 3 yrs./4 mo. old. Only Invacare itself, located in Ohio, is the only place in the country that authorizes itself, to work on their portable concentrators. You have to take it to an authorized Invacare dealer. From there, the dealer ships it to Invacare. Your unit sits in a store room, until every other unit in for repair is repaired. The first time, after 2 years of service, the unit was in for 1 1/2 months. After I received it back, the unit still wasn't repaired properly. It went back again. Another 1 1/2 months went by. The unit worked properly for about 1 yr. Now it's back @ Invacare again. 4 mo. out of warranty w/a $853 repair bill. The unit's only has 1400 hrs. on it. Approx. 400 hrs. a yr. of service. I paid $2400 for the unit in the first place. Add on the repair bill of $853. $3253 for 3.3 yrs. of service. Your looking @ approx. $1000 a year for this unit. For the current service of $853, they're only offering a 6 mo. warranty. Ridiculous! When you select one of the other Company with portable units, ask if they'll be serviced @ the selling dealer. You'll be saving yourself a lot of trouble. If they do offer an extended service agreement @ a nominal fee, take it. Usually they offer these agreements by the year, so pay attention to the small print. For example, my new home concentrator, (costs $630 new), after less than 2 mos. has 1250 hrs. It, although covered by insurance, also has a 3 yr. warranty. These things can run for 40 or 50,000 hrs. I could have purchased 5 of these outright for what 1 portable costs me so far. Be careful...

Love the freedom this gives, especially on car trips where I can plug it in. Also very light weight and that is essential for me. I only wish the batteries lasted longer.
