Description
The Trach Elbow Suction Catheter is a suction catheter designed to be used on patients who are intubated with endotracheal tubes. The catheters help healthcare professionals irrigate excessive body secretions out of the user’s tracheal tube and airways. The catheters are available in a range of sizes to accommodate the natural structure and convenience of the patient.
The suction catheter has an elbow design which makes it incredibly flexible and easy to insert. The flexibility and convenience are further enhanced by the dual swivels when not connected to the connectors. The catheters feature a one-way irrigation port or lavage port at the end that efficiently drains out the secretions that are drawn. The port is accompanied by a locking thumb port that allows healthcare professionals to control the flow of irrigation and drainage.
The Trach Elbow Suction Catheter is gamma sterilized and requires no further sterilization before use. Gamma sterilization clears the catheter of microorganisms efficiently leaving no room for infection or pathogen contamination. This sterility is maintained by wrapping the catheter in a tactile sleeve and preventing contamination through contact. The sleeve also ensures minimal trauma to the user’s body tissues during insertion as it provides a gentle feel. The rounded edges of the elbow designed catheter also add to this gentle surface interface. To avoid cross-contamination, it is recommended to use the catheter for a single patient only.
