Systagenix PROMOGRAN PRISMA Matrix Dressing

The Promogran Prisma Matrix Wound Dressing is an effective surgical dressing that conforms to the constant changes in the wound environment and promotes faster wound healing. It is ideal to treat a variety of wounds including diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, abrasions and other traumatic wounds. It is also beneficial for full and partial thickness burns, surgical wounds and other exuding wounds.

The Prisma Matrix Dressing consists of forty-four percent oxidized regenerated cellulose, fifty-five percent collagen and one percent silver. The collagen in the dressing absorbs the wound exudate while the oxidized cellulose compresses the blood vessels and prevents the free flow of blood. The silver, twenty-five percent of which is ionically bonded silver, acts as an effective anti-microbial and protects the skin from infection and promotes better healing time. When brought into contact with the exudate, the dressing turns into a soft and comfortable gel that covers and fills in the entire wound area. This helps create a moist environment for the wound which further accelerates the growth of granulation tissue and the repair of the thin outer skin tissue. Although the gel easily conforms to cover the complete wound, users also have the option to cut the dressing to conform to the wound shape and size.

The Promogran Prisma Matrix Dressing is designed to comfortably fit the wound for up to seven days. It is meant to be used as a primary dressing but can also be used as a secondary dressing if advised by a doctor.
