Scottsdale Airpark News magazine voted Kim Nelson, LMT, and The Desert Institute of Physical Therapy the Top Place for a Massage in the market for 2008. Online ballots were cast by their readership, estimated at approximately 140,000 through Oct. 20, 2008.
The Desert Institute opened in the Airpark in 1993 and has grown from a two person operation to a staff of greater than fifteen, including five Physical Therapists, two Athletic Trainers, a Massage Therapist, PT technicians and a complete billing staff. Our staff has an average of over 20 years of experience in treating patients. We provide service for patients who have sustained injuries in motor vehicle accidents, sports related injuries, industrial, and general population. Our staff has worked with patients on the PGA, LPGA and Championsâ€™ Tours, Oakland Aâ€™s, as well as, action sports athletes who have competed in the winter & summer X Games and Olympics, including members of the US Snowboarding Team and Vans Triple Crown of Skateboarding and Snowboarding.
Kim earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University and became certified in Massage Therapy through the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy.
