The Cardinal Health NPWT PRO to Go Kit is a negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) kit that includes all the supplies needed for 10 days of at-home NPWT treatments.

What is Negative Pressure Wound Therapy?

Negative Pressure Wound Therapy utilizes low-level vacuum suction to a wound to draw out fluid and infections and is most often recommended for pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and chronic wounds. NPWT can help to both speed up healing and prevent infection. Your doctor can tell you if NPWT is appropriate for your wound.

How Does NPWT Work?

First, the wound is dressed with a special dressing that draws fluid and infection out of and away from the wound bed. Next, with the canister placed over the wound the excess fluid is vacuumed out of the dressing by the NPWT device, removing exudate and creating a more optimal healing wound environment. The suction of the NPWT device also helps to pull wound edges together to further promote quick repair of the damaged tissue. How the Cardinal Health Pro to Go Kit Can Help you Receive an Earlier Discharge

For patients remaining in the hospital for wound care therapy, the NPWT Pro to Go Kit can help get them discharged sooner by allowing them to continue their NPWT at home. If the patient's health care provider deems it appropriate, the Cardinal Health NPWT Pro to Go Kit can be placed in the hospital where the patient can then receive home NPWT care instructions and prepare to be discharged with home negative pressure wound therapy.

What is Included in the Pro to Go Kit?

The kit includes the lightweight negative pressure wound therapy device, three large black dressings, and two 300CC containers, tubing, and the device carrying case. Additional dressings, canisters, and other accessories are also available.
