Description

ConvaTec ConvaMax Superabsorber Wound Dressing is the ideal choice when needing maximum exudate management in a dressing. Chronic wounds and ulcers producing heavy exudate require absorbent dressings to control infection and reduce the risk of further damage to the wound bed and surrounding peri-wound skin. ConvaMax meets this challenge due to its superabsorbent (SAP) core that's designed to soak up the exudate and effectively trap it. Many wound dressings may absorb large amounts of exudate, but do not effectively retain the fluid when it reaches full capacity. This may cause the dressing to break open thus releasing bacteria back into the wound. Exudate retention is particularly important when it's used under a compression bandage or with other compression therapy.

ConvaMax Wound Dressing with Suberabsorbent SAP Core is available in a variety of sizes with or without an adhesive to provide flexibility when needing a primary or secondary dressing. The dressing without adhesive can be secured with tape, bandage, or a tubular stockinette. The dressing is also packaged sterile for convenience, fast application.

ConvaMax Dressing Layers and Uses

The dressing features three main layers. The Protective Backing is moisture vapor permeable and will protect the wound from outside bacteria. The middle layer is the SAP Core that sits above the Comfortable Wicking Layer that quickly wicks up fluid to the core so that it can be removed and locked in. The adhesive dressing option uses a gentle silicone material that adheres without damaging the skin to protect elderly thin and delicate skin.

ConvaMax Non-Adhesive Superabsorber Wound Dressing:

  • Ideal for deep wound beds, surgical wounds, ulcers, and tunneling or sinus wounds that will be secured by a primary dressing.

Non-Adhesive Layers

ConvaMax Adhesive Superabsorber Wound Dressing:

  • Ideal for acute or shallow wounds and ulcers that won't require a primary dressing. Oedema fluid will not stick to the silicone and cause trauma when it is removed.

Fluid Absorption and Performance Under Compression

ConvaMax has shown to effectively absorb high amounts of exudate, but when tested under compression, it continues to perform and even outperform its competitors.**
