How Localized Temperature Therapy Works

Localized temperature therapy is the application of heat or cold. This therapy has long been clinically recognized as a treatment for pain relief, improved blood flow and tissue metabolism, removal of wastes and toxins, and a reduction in swelling. Aside from clinical treatment, localized temperature therapy has been known to reduce stress and provide a relaxing intervention for the user. CardinalHealth's Jack Frost Therapy Packs are an effective, reusable, and durable option for this treatment.

Instructions for Use

Microwave (for Hot Use)

Place room temperature gel pack in the microwave. Heat at full power (750 watts)for no more than 8 seconds. Remove from the microwave. Knead the pack to distribute heat evenly. For additional heat, reheat pack in the microwave for 2 seconds. Do not exceed 10 seconds of total heating time. Wrap in a towel and apply to the desired area. Microwave ovens vary in wattage output. Some may heat at a faster or slower rate.

Freeze (for Cold Use)

Place gel pack flat in the freezer for a minimum of 2 hours. Remove gel pack from the freezer. Wrap with a towel and apply to the desired area. Remove after 30 minutes. Leave area uncovered 1 hour before cold re-application.
