Description

This opaque urostomy bag is available in two flange sizes. This line of urostomy pouches is designed with belt tabs to reduce the downward force and keep the pouch in place. The most popular is the Securi-T USA Urostomy Pouch (Genairex 7501134) with Flip-Flow Valve, which has a 1 3/4-inch flange. The flip flow valve makes draining easy. As a two-piece system, the urostomy bag can be drained by detaching the bag from the wafer to drain directly into the toilet or it can remain in place and drain while sitting or kneeling beside the toilet. The flip flow valve option also includes a Night Drain Adapter. This universal adapter connects to a drainage container or bag for a restful and worry-free night's sleep.

Looking for a wafer is also uncomplicated using the Securi-T matching SKU numbering system. Simply match the last three digits of the pouch product number with the last three digits of the wafer. Whether you choose from the Securi-T Flat, Hydrocolloid, or Convex wafers, this numbering system will ensure you get the right flange size and connection when you match these numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • How often should a urostomy bag be replaced? Urostomy pouches should be changed 1-2 times per week.
  • Can I sleep with a urostomy bag? Yes, if you place pillows around the abdomen to prevent you from rolling over the pouch. Or use the universal nighttime adapter to connect tubing to a drainage container.
  • How often do I drain the urostomy pouch? Drain the pouch several times a day or more if you drink frequently. It's important to gauge your fluid intake so that leakage doesn't occur and compromise the skin.
