Systagenix Promogran Wound Dressing Overview

The Systagenix Promogran Wound Dressing is a collagen dressing designed for the management of chronic wounds. It consists of a sterile, freeze-dried matrix made from collagen and oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC), which is formed into hexagonal pieces approximately 3mm thick.

Features and Benefits

Matrix Metalloprotease Inactivation: The Promogran matrix absorbs liquid and forms a soft, conformable gel that physically binds and inactivates matrix metalloproteases (MMPs). This helps promote wound healing by creating an environment conducive to granulation tissue formation and epithelialization.
Management of Chronic Wounds: Promogran is indicated for the management of all types of chronic wounds that are free of necrotic tissue and visible signs of infection. It provides an optimal moist wound-healing environment, which aids in the healing process.
Low-Adherent Secondary Dressing: To ensure proper usage, the Promogran matrix must be covered with a low-adherent secondary dressing that conserves moisture and maintains a moist wound-healing environment.
Packaging: Each Promogran dressing is packaged in a transparent waterproof peel pouch sealed with a laminated cover, ensuring sterility and ease of use.
