Designed for use immediately after surgery, sturdy metal uprights provide stability, while straps with aircells securely hold the brace in position, ensuring patient comfort and avoiding pressure points. The Aircast Mayo Clinic Elbow Brace also features an innovative control knob and adjustable hinge. This lock/unlock mechanism enables a rapid switch between immobilization, static stretch, and free range of motion (ROM). For static stretch, the user sets the control knob to the desired degree of flexion/extension. Once the arm muscles have stretched to the designated degree, the muscles can relax, thus minimizing the inflammatory response that can occur in dynamic stretching.
