This product is supposed to be for a person recovering from hip surgery, which would make them significantly disabled post-op.  I am just plain-old disabled from birth, and I know my needs and limitations, so I needed a more narrow bench to fit in my tub and I ordered this one.  Well, for starters, don't let soap and water get between you and the seat (really hard to prevent when you're taking a shower...), because slip off the seat and get hurt you will.  There are no drainage holes in the seat, thus even though the seat has a textured surface, the water and soap does not drain away like it should and you are are risk for sliding off.  I have to put one foot on the front of the tub to stop myself from sliding forward and carefully watch that I don't slide sideways, which would throw me out of the tub onto the floor. My legs don't function below the knee, but because everthing above that point does function, I have some control.  If you have any higher a degree of disability, don't get this stool for your shower.  In addition, if you are shorter than 5 feet tall, this stool will be too tall for you even at its lowest setting. And, lastly, the rotational feature of this stool is facilitated by a smooth disk that goes between the base stool and the cover you sit on.  In an effort to hold onto the stool when I first got it, to prevent myself from sliding off, my fingers got caught between the cover and the base.  So, you have to watch out for that too.  Definitely a very poor design that puts persons with any disability at a higher risk for injury.
