Description
The 5 Quart SharpSafety Container is an ergonomically designed disposal container designed to be used to dispose of sharp medical instruments and tools. As the name suggests, it has a storage volume of 5 quarts, or one and a quarter gallons, and can be easily placed for use in hospitals and clinics.
The disposal container features a top horizontal drop to ensure safe disposal. Combined with a counter balanced lid, the top drop also provides maximum space to accommodate larger sharp objects easily. The container also features an anti-kickback feature to prevent sharp objects dropped in from bouncing back out. A “Full” sign on the container indicates users when it is full and needs to be disposed of safely. To complement this and ensure safety, the container also automatically shuts-off when it is full. This also prevents overfilling and the risk of contamination due to exposure.
The SharpSafety 5 Quart Disposal Unit is equipped with two locking tabs on the top of the lid that secure the contents inside when it’s time for the final disposal. Since it is made entirely of polypropylene, it can be safely incinerated for the final disposal. For easy portability, the container has molded handles that can be gripped to either move it around and place it in a more convenient place or transport it for disposal. When not in use, the containers can easily be nested to save valuable storage space. The containers are designed to be translucent for visible inspection of the contents.
