The Mckesson Medi-Pak Sponges are square-shaped, soft, and highly-absorbent gauze sponges that can be used to absorb or remove unwanted liquefied matter from wound sites. It is made with a reduced-linting process that reduces the risk of contamination due to fabric residual.

These gauze sponges by McKesson are perfect to be used in a personal first aid kit or in hospitals to perform different general wound care procedures such as wound dressing, cleaning, prepping etc. These gauze sponges are made of high-grade cotton which makes them soft, breathable and comfortable on the skin even for extended periods of times. The cotton fabric construction also makes it ideal to absorb blood or exudate from wounds. This makes them suitable to be used on exudating wounds as a primary dressing with a secondary dressing holding them in place. It can also be applied in conjunction with ointments or topical agents for a temporary healing of wounds.

These sponges come in a square shape with a four by four inch dimension. The sponges are woven in a twelve ply thickness which makes them extra-strong and highly absorbent than regular sponges.

The Medi-Pak Sponges are safely packed in easy-peel pouches that can be easily opened by simply peeling the cover off. These non-sterilized gauze sponges are latex-free and suitable to be used by people with latex allergies. To avoid cross-contamination, it is recommended to use the sponges for a single use only.
