Description
The Pediasure 1.5 Cal Peptide-Based Nutrition for Children is a vanilla-flavored nutritional formula for pediatric patients with difficulties in absorbing nutrients due to various gastrointestinal tract disorders like malabsorption. The nutrition drink by Abbott is peptide-based that help improves the absorption and tolerance of nutrients and also maintains normal growth and development in pediatrics.
It consists of a highly nutritious blend of hydrolyzed whey protein, nutritious fibers, and healthy fats that support the absorption during the normal digestion process. The fibers comprise of NutraFlora scFOS which are a bunch of prebiotics that facilitates the growth of healthy bacteria inside the colon to promote regular bowel function. The drink also consists of MCT and structured lipids that add to the required healthy fat nutrients that are easy to absorb.
It is suitable to consume the drink as an oral supplement as well as a tube-feeding formula. It is available as a vanilla-flavored drink for oral consumption and a ready-to-hang (RTH) bottle for enteral feeding. It is suitable to be consumed by people on kosher, halal, gluten-free, and lactose-intolerant diets. It is safe to be used as a sole source of nutrition as well as a source of supplemental nutrition.
