The Cardinal Health Non-Reinforced AAMI Level 3 Sterile Surgical Gown is the number 1 selling gown of its type. These gowns have been tested and proven to be waterproof in a hydrostatic head test at over 50 centimeters ensuring protection and cleanliness for both patient and surgeon. Cardinal Health Sterile Surgical Gowns come in a royal blue color, making them easy to differentiate between other Cardinal Health AAMI Gown levels. Additionally, every Cardinal surgery gown meets a Class 1 rating for normal flammability, reducing the risk of fire hazard. These gowns are available on Active Forever in Large (Cardinal Health 9515), Extra Large (Cardinal Health 9545), and Double Extra Large (Cardinal Health 9575). While a Cardinal surgeon gown offers great protection from fluids it's not enough to maintain the environment of sterility needed in the operating room. Hydrostatic Head Testing is a process used to determine the waterproof qualities of materials. The test is done by sealing a waterproof material over a tube that then is filled with water. The tube, as it's filled with water, will increase the pressure exerted on the material. The higher the water in the tube, the higher the pressure exerted on the material. From this, a rating can be determined for a material on its ability to resist fluid strikethrough. At 50 centimeters, water pressure is equal to about 4900 pascal, or about 3/4 pounds per square inch.
