The Teleflex 10011 Humid-Vent Mini Heat and Moisture Exchanger is a lightweight and efficient heat and moisture exchanger. The vent is designed specifically for neonatal patients on artificial ventilation using tracheostomy tubes. The vent has a standard connector with a size of fifteen millimeters. This makes it compatible with all standard tracheostomy tubes used for ventilation.

At just four and a half grams, the Teleflex Mini HME is incredibly light in weight. This is why it is easy to apply and remove and does not exert much strain on the tube which minimizes trauma. The exchanger is used to maintain the neonatal patient’s breath at the appropriate level of humidity. It traps the moisture and humidity of the patient during expiration of breath. The moisture is returned to the patient during inspiration thereby keeping the patient’s breath naturally warm and humid. The vent has a small tidal volume range of fifteen to fifty milliliters which is ideal for neonates.

The 10011 Humid Vent HME is individually sterilized and packed to ensure that it is ready to be used right out of the pack. A transparent housing offers good visibility to ensure the connection is secure and the device is functioning accurately. It is designed to offer the least resistance to air flow for maximum efficiency. It is important to note that the vent is not equipped with an oxygen port to administer oxygen artificially.
